Every Blueberry Recipe You Need
If you found us for our homeschool curriculum, you may not know we are organic wild blueberry farmers! We are in the midst of our season, but a heavy rain gave us a much-needed day of rest. We hand-harvest our low-bush berries, which means we pick by hand and use metal rakes to harvest our fields. The weather tends to be HOT and humid during our season. The berries are ready early this year, and working in the steamy weather has been challenging. We have been selling berries in quarts and pints so far, but on Monday, our raking commences! We fill boxes of berries that weigh over twenty pounds, carry them across the field to our truck, and at the end of the day, they are delivered to a local processor. The processor freezes our berries, which are sent across the US and Canada! If you have purchased wild blueberries or products made with wild blueberries, you may have had some from our Maine farm! It is exciting for our family to think about!
I have put together all of the blueberry recipes I have shared over the years for you. After our season ends, there will be more recipes to come!
Thank you for your ongoing support!
Blueberry Crisp
Blueberry crisp is a year-round favorite for our family! It comes together quickly, and you can use fresh or frozen blueberries.
Blueberry Galette
This blueberry galette is easy for us to make during our busy harvesting season. Our flaky butter pie crust can easily be made ahead as well!
Blueberry Vanilla Scones
While these are not traditional English scones, they are absolutely delicious! We often find this American version (think the best muffin top you've ever had) in our local bakeries.
Blueberry Bagels
Our growing season is short, so I wanted to write this recipe using frozen blueberries, which are what we rely on for the majority of the year. I am always trying to find new uses for our Maple Blueberry Sauce, so it makes an appearance in these chewy bagels.
Maple Blueberry Sauce
We use our own wild Maine blueberries and maple syrup in this recipe. It is delicious on everything from yogurt and ice cream to pancakes and waffles! You only need three ingredients and a few minutes to enjoy some at your home!
Blueberry Cheese Danish
We use our Blueberry Maple Sauce for this light and flaky cheese danish. The vanilla glaze brings all the flavors together for the perfect treat!
